Tomorrow’s Forests Ltd has an extensive in-house training program for our workers. Our Health and Safety program is a continuous program that keeps on updating our workers on the different hazards and dangers they may face on a daily basis.
Our Health and Safety program includes the following:
- Emergency response plan
- Evacuation procedures
- First Aid attendants, how to summon, equipment location
- PPE policy
- Emergency contact numbers
- Radio use and protocol
- Drive-in policies
- Right and obligation to feel safe and secure in a crew vehicle
- Driving personal vehicles to work sites
- Environmental management systems (what we need to do as surveyors – garbage, spills)
- Spill procedures – reporting requirements, spill kit location
- Firefighting procedures – tools and location
- Danger tree assessment
- WHIMIS – Dangerous material and MSDS sheets
- Working alone procedures -check in, buddy system
- Dangers of heat exhaustion – heat stroke and how to be proactive about it
- Dangers of hypothermia
- Proper nutrition and hydration – performance enhancer, injury reducer
- Hazard recognition and corrective action logs
- Hygiene – wash hands often, don't share drinks, dangers of drinking out of streams and ponds
- Due diligence – what are our responsibilities
- Company policies – safety policies, right to refuse unsafe work
